Cute and Fashion Forward!

Helloooo Kitty! I decided to do this nail design for my mother. I love Hello Kitty but she knows so much about the character and her friends. This design is simple and can be shifted so the face is pointing towards the bottom of the nail instead of the side. I chose to do it to the side so I could incorporate more of her face onto the nail.

I stared with my base coat and painted O.P.I.'s Alpine Snow for the white of her face. I then sort of mapped out where the eyes, nose and whiskers would be by pushing lightly into the white polish just before it dried to create a small indentation. I did this because I wanted to create the yellow of the nose before I outlined it in black but I didn’t want to have to rush to get the outline done before the black nail polish I was dipping my tools into dried. I took Sally Hansen’s Mellow Yellow from the Xtreem wear line and dipped a bobby pin in it to create the nose. Her nose is oblong so you may have to create two dots and connect them, otherwise just use a flattened edge of a toothpick to get the same affect. Then I took a regular toothpick and dipped it into O.P.I’s Razzle Dazzler from their Nicole line and created the eyes, the outline of the nose and the whiskers. The next step is the accessory because as we all know Hello Kitty wouldn’t go anywhere without something fabulous on her head. I chose to make a red flower but you could create a pink bow, a yellow flower or bow, a row of flowers around her ear, or any other cute accessory! Finish off with your favorite top coat to seal in your look!
